SEPHORA SALE PICKS

November 9, 2018MAKEUP, SKINCARE21

The Sephora VIB Holiday Sale begins Friday, November 2 and ends Monday, November 5! VIB members can save 20% off their entire purchase in-store or online with the code VIBBONUS. Rouge members previously had two weekends to shop the sale, while Beauty Insiders can start saving next weekend. I’m not planning on picking anything up this sale (I blew my shopping budget for the month already, oops), but I rounded up some of my favorites that are worth picking up (especially at 20% off)!

SKINCARE PICKS

Drunk Elephant Lala Retro Whipped Cream – The most beautiful, nourishing, whipped moisturizer. I’ve used up samples of this and definitely intend on purchasing the full size in the future. This whipped moisturizer is heavy, but absorbs nicely and doesn’t leave your skin feeling greasy – it’s the perfect nighttime moisturizer, but also works wonderfully during the day when the weather is cold and dry. I’m obsessed with the airless pump packaging and the clean formulation that is beyond beneficial for the skin! If you’ve been looking for a nighttime or winter moisturizer, look no further – this is it.

Farmacy Honey Potion Renewing Antioxidant Hydration Mask – When I first got into skincare, I was all about acids and dismissed hydrating products – if a mask didn’t have acids in it, I didn’t buy it. I purchased a half-off voucher for Farmacy earlier in the year and bought Honey Potion due to the hype surrounding it. I enjoyed the mask, but didn’t think I would purchase it again – after all, it was just a hydrating mask. Fast forward several months later – here I am, slowly cutting back on acids, incorporating more hydrating products into my routine, and masking with Honey Potion any chance I get. This mask is thick, just like honey, but transforms into a warm cream when rubbed into the skin. It creates a luxurious, warm sensation on the skin that worried me at first, but it doesn’t irritate my skin and I’ve come to be obsessed with the sensation. My skin feels incredibly soft after using this mask, and I’ve been using it on repeat now that the weather is getting colder and my skin feels drier. The hype surrounding this mask is there for a reason.

Drunk Elephant Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil – I first tried this oil when I purchased Drunk Elephant’s Nighttime Kit in 2017 and loved mixing 2-3 drops with T.L.C. Framboos – it’s hydrating and Drunk Elephant claims the oil helps serums penetrate the skin deeper. I didn’t purchase the oil when I ran out because I was turned off the price. A few months later, I received the full-size oil in a PR package from Drunk Elephant and was excited to be reunited with her again – and I won’t think twice about repurchasing. This oil is heavy, it’s thick, it’s incredibly nourishing and moisturizing, and I can’t live without it. I mix it with my serums and I use it alone – it does everything. My skin loves it. Sure, $72 for a facial oil is a little steep, but the 20% off Sephora sale exists for a reason. If you’ve been thinking about incorporating facial oils into your routine or have been eyeing this for a while, pull the trigger.

Dr. Roebuck’s Down Under Collagen Boosting Eye Treatment – I don’t recommend eye treatments often because I have yet to find my miracle eye cream, but I’m currently obsessed with this eye treatment. First of all, this pot is huge and will last *ages*. The eye cream is thick, and transforms into a balmy texture when rubbed and dabbed into the skin, leaving my undereye area feeling soft and hydrated. It’s packed with caffeine, coconut oil, rosehip oil, and sodium PCA to moisturize improve the look of wrinkles, and it’s definitely worth trying!

Drunk Elephant C-Firma Day Serum – I’ve tried several vitamin C serums and I always come back to this one – even though it costs $80 a bottle. Again, this is definitely worth picking up during the sale! My skin has never looked and felt this good when using another vitamin C serum –  C-Firma truly works wonders for me. It takes care of hyperpigmentation much quicker than other serums I’ve tried; my skin truly glows and feels firm and healthy with C-Firma. Like other vitamin C serums, C-Firma can oxidize rather quickly – but at $80, I’m getting my damn money’s worth. When vitamin C serums oxidize, it doesn’t necessarily mean the product has gone bad and is unsafe to use – it just means the vitamin C may not be fully effective as it was when you first opened the bottle. I’ve used the entire bottle, even after it oxidized, and experienced no irritation and my skin still looked GOOD. I know there are a lot of C-Firma skeptics out there, but I’m here to tell you that C-Firma is THAT bitch.

Dr. Jart Cicapair Tiger Grass Color Correcting Treatment SPF 30 – I don’t talk about this enough, but it deserves all the recognition in the world. If you struggle with redness and are unable to find a solution, you need to get your hands on this. I’ve struggled with redness in my cheeks for as long as I can remember, and everything I’ve tried has failed to relieve or cover up my redness. For a while, I was using full-coverage liquid AND powder foundation with a full-coverage concealer layered on top to conceal my redness – and it was still visible. I waltzed into Sephora one day, went straight to this treatment, dabbed a little on my cheeks, and walked straight to checkout. This green cream transforms into a beige color-correcting treatment when applied to skin and conceals redness beautifully, and also works to protect skin from sun damage with SPF 30 and soothe inflammation with raspberry leaf extract. This product is skincare and makeup in one – after my skincare routine, I apply it to areas I experience redness and treat it like a concealer. Most days, I can get away with using this treatment as my only base – concealer and foundation aren’t necessary. When I do a full face of makeup, applying this is ALWAYS my first step. Bonus: this huge pot lasts forever. Just buy it already.

HAIR PICKS

OUAI Rose Hair & Body Oil – The dreamiest hair oil. I don’t own the full-size, but I’m dying to get my hands on it – I don’t walk out of a Sephora until I run this through my hair. It smells amazing, helps tame frizz, and hair oils are my shit. My hair feels so soft when I use this oil, and I’ve heard it’s amazing as a body oil, also!

OUAI Wave Spray – My go-to hairstyle is undone, beachy curls, and I can’t achieve it without a good wavy spray. This is my current favorite; it smells great and doesn’t leave my hair feeling dry or crunchy. It creates perfect, undone waves and it’s a staple in my hair routine.

MoroccanOil MoroccanOil Treatment – Again, hair oils are my shit. I have a ton of favorites, but nothing beats this one. My hair has never felt SO soft and silky and it smells absolutely beautiful – I catch myself sniffing my hair all day when this is in my hair. It controls frizz, detangles, accelerates blowdrying time, and makes hair look incredibly shiny. A true miracle worker for my dry ass hair.

HOLIDAY GIFT PICKS

Drunk Elephant Agent Ellie Day Kit – If you’ve been wanting to try Drunk Elephant or give an amazing gift to someone, Drunk Elephant’s holiday kits are the way to go. I purchased the Day Kit for myself because, as you may already know, I’m obsessed with C-Firma – it’s my favorite vitamin C serum, hands down. For only $8, you get minis of the Shaba Complex Eye Serum, Umbra Tinte, B-Hydra, and Protini, and it’s a perfect introduction to the brand!

Drunk Elephant Inspector Drunk Night Kit – I purchased the Night Kit for myself last year and tried T.L.C Framboos for the first time and fell in love. Drunk Elephant gifted me the kit again this year and I was so excited to be reunited with Framboos! It’s an incredible night serum and the kit comes with minis of B-Hydra, C-Tango Eye Cream, Beste Jelly Cleanser, and Lala Retro Whipped Cream. Again – Drunk Elephant kits are the best gift you can get for a skincare junkie.

Milk Makeup Meet the Fam Bestsellers Kit – Milk Makeup’s bestsellers are bestsellers for a reason, and they’re all conveniently packed in this kit to give to your beauty-obsessed friend (or keep for yourself)! The Kush Mascara is a favorite of mine, as well as the Matte Bronzer and their highlighter and Lip + Cheek sticks are to die for. This kit is such a fun introduction to Milk Makeup if you’ve been eyeing them for a while!

Farmacy The Mighties Kit – The cutest introduction to Farmacy, who is quickly becoming one of my favorite brands! I swear by Green Clean – it’s my favorite cleansing balm. I wrote a lengthy paragraph about Honey Potion earlier in this post, and seriously… you need it. Or you need to gift it to someone if you care about them. You’re welcome.

Laneige Kiss and Make Up Set – This kit contains a full-size lip mask and three mini lip masks in different flavors and it’s the cutest thing I’ve ever seen. I absolutely swear by the lip mask – I apply a generous amount before bedtime and wake up with the smoothest lips. Cracked lips who?

Sunday Riley Good Genes Holiday Kit – A full-size Good Genes with minis of Ceramic Slip, CEO Serum, Tidal Water Cream, and Luna Night Oil (!!!) – this kit is a steal, and for 20% off this weekend, it’s worth picking up if you need to restock on Good Genes or gift it to someone you love. Good Genes is a cult classic for a reason!

I could write for DAYS about what to pick up from the sale – I have infinite products I love and an endless wishlist – but I’ll leave it at this. Happy shopping, friends! Xx
